The Story

After 26 hours of labor, Kyle Christopher Harker was born on February 3rd, 2008 at 2:03 am via C-Section. He weighted 8 lbs 7 oz and was 20 3/4 inches long. He spent his first 3 days in NICU with pneumonia and on antibiotics but he is now a very healthy, growing boy! He is certainly the light of my life and I can't tell you how incredibly lucky I feel to be so blessed with such a wonderful gift.

Grandpa's shoes

Grandpa came over today to look at the car and left his shoes by the door
Kyle found them and tried for quite awhile to put them on himself
Finally, Grandpa decided to help Kyle put the shoes on. He was SO proud to be in Grandpa's shoes

Although, we all know, Grandpa's shoes are hard to fill

Another one of Kyle's obsessions

As most of you know, Kyle has some very interesting things he LOVES to play with
One of them being the dryer. I was folding clothes and could hear him banging around with the dryer and he wouldn't answer when I called so I went to investigate (I do this A LOT with him)
He had put an outfit of his in the dryer, one of my shoes, one of his shoes
and next up were my blow dryer and my hairbrush

He is truly the busiest little boy on the planet.

Kyle's Birthday Party

For Kyle's birthday party, we went to Chuck E Cheese!
He loved all of the other kids and loved watching everyone play the games
I think his favorite thing was his Chuck E Cheese cup

I didn't do very well at getting pictures of everyone that came.
Grandma and Grandpa Harker, Keri, Charlie and Emily, Kevin and Marin (Tyra was home with Andrew because he was sick) Jim and Mary Swanger.

and our dear friend Lisa and her son Kenny

Hey, someone had to clean the frosting off of toys on the cake!

Kyle's favorite thing to do was to ride the BOB the builder tractor
We had a great day that finished out our very special first birthday week!

SPRING FEVER

Today, Kyle and I got a touch of spring fever and decided to plant a few things and clean off the patio
He wanted to help water the new plants........
then decided he needed some watering himself I guess

He loves to sweep, even though he was making a much bigger mess for me that I would have had but these are the memories that I cherish

A "simple" day in the life of Kyle

I wanted to share just a few things that go on in this very busy little boys life in just a few hours time....
We vacuum the house
We put the groceries away....

We get the empty jugs out of the recycle bin and play with them, making Mommy wonder why in the heck we spend so much money on toys when really, he is satisfied with a simple plastic object!

Then, while Mommy is blow drying her hair, he decides to try and scale the towel holder in the bathroom as it quickly falls over and he does a face plant into the side of the tub, resulting in a very large and colorful goose egg!

Then, while Mommy tries to work, he unloads almost the entire toy box and climbs in!
This my friends is the busiest little boy I have ever met!
