The Story

After 26 hours of labor, Kyle Christopher Harker was born on February 3rd, 2008 at 2:03 am via C-Section. He weighted 8 lbs 7 oz and was 20 3/4 inches long. He spent his first 3 days in NICU with pneumonia and on antibiotics but he is now a very healthy, growing boy! He is certainly the light of my life and I can't tell you how incredibly lucky I feel to be so blessed with such a wonderful gift.

Peek-a-boo

The other day I was making the bed, after one of Kyle's many throw-up episodes in there and I could hear him in the kitchen yelling "MOM, MOM, MOM!"
So I decided to go check out what he was so adamant about......
he was waiting under the towel for me to play peek-a-boo!

Teething...... BAD!

Not only has Kyle been sick but he is also teething which has given him a fever too so to help cool him I thought I would give him a Popsicle.......

I think the picture shows how well he liked it! COLD!

Feeling much better!

Kyle started feeling much better so we went to the school and played ball for a bit.......
slowly but surely he is able to run and play and not cough and weez!
He is such a happy boy that it was hard to see him have to remain so calm for SO many days.
I think we both went stir crazy!
Then on our way to get groceries we stopped at our favorite place......STARBUCKS!
Kyle always gets an ice water
Then he got to "drive" the shopping cart.
Doesn't take much to put a smile on this handsome face!

Our follow-up

On our Monday morning follow-up appointment

Kyle patiently waited for the doctor by playing with everything in the room
he read books..........
he ran all around the room
and climbed on the step stool!

Dr. Mason put Kyle on a breathing machine every few hours to help cure this RSV crud

Kyle was very proud of his ELMO sticker and tongue depressor that Dr. Mason gave him for being such a good, brave boy!

Back again.....

Apparently, croupe wasn't our only problem........
On Easter Sunday, Kyle could hardly go across the livingroom without coughing and weezing so back to the emergency room we went! Grandma and Grandpa came to hang out with us and while we waited, Grandma gave Kyle a ride in the wagon

This time I found out what Kyle actually had is RSV
After xrays, nose swab and a prescription we were on our way

Just the beginning.......

Well, this is just the beginning of our Easter weekend hospital visits.
On Friday night, Kyle woke up at 9pm with a horrible bark and was having trouble getting a full breath. I called the advice nurse and after trying a few home remedies, I was told to take him to the emergency room. I was told he had croupe and after a dose of steroids we went home.

I think the thing he hated the most was the plastic wristband they made him wear!
